Why You Should Skip the iPhone 14

The new iPhone 14 series introduced this year come with a wide range of possibilities that a smartphone can offer, such as groundbreaking safety features like car crash detection, enhanced cameras on the rear and front, and e-SIM instead of a physical card. And yet, the new iPhone 14 from this phone series is highly overrated, and if you are considering upgrading to iPhone 14, we recommend skipping it and saving your money. However, if you have made up your mind and want to upgrade, go for iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max if you can afford it.

Here are some of the reasons why you should skip the iPhone 14

iPhone 14 is a minor upgrade from the iPhone 13

iPhone 14 is pretty much just a minor upgrade from the iPhone 13. Sure, it's got a slightly improved processor and upgraded camera features, but it's the same phone as its predecessor. It does also come with some extra gigabytes of storage. However, is it still worth spending all that money for such a minor upgrade? It has the same screen as iPhone 13, and the notch is still there. The new selfie camera does not have a higher resolution, but it has a wider aperture, so low light will be better. It has more RAM, a slightly bigger battery, and some new video features. The iPhone 13 has the same camera system, and the screen is super high resolution. So, going for an iPhone 14 will give you pretty much all the things iPhone 13 offers with just some minor upgrades. Therefore,  if you already have an iPhone 13, it's probably not worth upgrading. However you are good to go for iPhone 14, if you have an iPhone X and want to upgrade to a phone that can serve you for the next four or five years.

There is too much distance between the Pro models and the standard model of the iPhone 14

As mentioned before, the new iPhone 14 and 14 plus come with minor upgrades from the iPhone 13. The gap is huge when you compare the standard models of the iPhone 14 with the pro models. The Pro models come with some of the most significant upgrades on the pro side. They have a more advanced chip, A16 Bionic, a dynamic island, a triple-lens camera, and up to 1TB of storage option. Meanwhile, the standard model only has a chip the same as last year's phone, a dual-lens camera, and a max storage of 256 GB. The new iPhone 14 Pro has some groundbreaking safety features designed to save lives. Those features allow you to deliver information to emergency services in emergencies in places with no internet connection and cell services. iPhone 14 Pro can detect severe car crashes and then call 911 and notify your emergency contacts. The Pro models also support a 120Hz refresh rate. Why even bother releasing the standard model if it's just a watered-down version of the Pro? Sure, it may be cheaper, but it defeats the purpose when you're not getting all the latest features.

iPhone 14 is relatively expensive

iPhone prices keep increasing, and the iPhone 14 is no exception. Of course, it's got some new features like improved camera technology and a faster processor, but let's be honest - how different is it really from iPhone 13? Sure, there are some minor upgrades, but do they warrant a significant price hike? It has been a year since iPhone 13 was released, and the price has decreased. Since there is no considerable difference between iPhone 13 and the 14, you could go for the previous phone and save yourself some money. Or if you have already got an iPhone 13, which still functions well, do not upgrade to the iPhone 14, which does not offer groundbreaking new features.

So, should you skip the iPhone 14?

The iPhone 13 was only released last year, and while the iPhone 14 may have some excellent new features, some might argue that it's not worth shelling out even more money for a slightly upgraded version. But ultimately, it's a personal decision. Do you value having the newest iPhone on the market? Are the new features worth it to you? Maybe you're happy with your iPhone 13 and don't see a need to upgrade just yet. Whatever your reasoning, there's no right or wrong answer when buying the iPhone 14 - it all depends on your individual preferences and budget.
